Sheep cheese from the Pyrenees is born between the Pic du Midi d'Ossau and the Iraty forest, in the Basque Country. Sheep cheese was traditionally an exchange value and a source of income for the shepherds on that territory.
This cheese comes from a successful mix between sheep cheese and the famous Espelette pepper powder - also called "Piment d'Espelette". As it is produced near the village of Espelette, it is only natural that they decided to add piment d'Espelette to their cheese.
We recommend this cheese either alone with a bit of cherry or blueberry jam or slice it in cubes and add it to your salad to "spice" it up.
